New Book - Soul Mate

I have published a new book, Soul Mate. It is a contemporary fantasy set in Oxford, UK. Beyond that I find it hard to categorize or describe this book, writing a blurb was a nightmare, and I don't think I sell the story very well. It has elements of the following, but does not fit any category that neatly,

Ghost story
Thriller
Romance
Murder mystery
Humour

It would be interesting to hear what people think!

    Hi I read your book in 13 hours straight I love it so much! Absolutely amazing! I eagerly await the next installment. The way you write the characters and places are utterly mesmerising, love the attention to detail. So original, I have never read anything like it. I am currently learning how to write in a similar genre and I really admire your talent. I think that Tommy's story is really compelling and I found myself rooting for him from the moment he starts to explain the ghosts and the mystery of the story kept me interested throughout. I think Soul Mate would do really well in audiobook format and as a TV series and I would love to see it happen in the future. - Luthien Baggins

    Fantastic book Richard - I rarely read a book so fast! The characters felt so real and the situation was gripping. I noticed a few typos, so it may be a good idea to get a pedant (like me - he he) to proof read the next one. Apart from those minor errors, I thought it read better than most of the stories I pay for. How do you actually make any ££ out of this when all your books seem to be free?

    I'll give Traitor Blade a bash now and I'll be looking forward to reading the next part of Tommy's adventures.

      Hi ScottyG, great to have feedback and hear that you enjoyed the book. Have recently updated and given it another proof read using the audio on Kindle so hopefully caught most of the typos this time. Not making money at present, just good to have readers, and waiting to see whether they like the books.

    I found this very hard to put down. It would make a great television series. I can't believe there isn't someone willing to publish this. Maybe you should lose the bat on the cover? I think it gives a false impression that it's another vampire story. Can't wait for more of Tommy's story, and I really hope you make money from your writing.       It's great to get your feedback and to know that readers are enjoying the story. I am working on the second book and would like to keep writing and ideally to have more time to spend doing so. Thanks.

    I loved this book , it makes you feel like your there watching tommy.
    Let's say a i had a few late nights because i didn't want to put it down.
    I cant wait for book 2 to come out ,will defenitly be watching for when it does.

    I'm just on the last couple of chapter of Soul Mate and I have to say I can't believe more people don't know about this book. It's gripping from the start, a real page turner! I just happened to download it by chance when I was scanning through the free books on my kindle. I would most certainly be willing to pay for the next instalment.
    You could have a glittering career!

    Hi, I've recently purchased a kindle and downloaded Soul Mate (book one). It was fantastic! I loved reading something so original and also thought it would be good as a tv drama! I have just been looking on Amazon for book two and have now found this site so am hoping you are nearly there with the next instalment. Good luck with it all.

      Hi Lyn, great to hear from you. A few people have said it would make a TV series, I'd love that, it would be fun to pick actors to play the characters.

      I'm writing the end of book 2, then I'll edit. I hope to get it done really soon, but somehow it always takes a bit longer than I think.

    First time I've ever felt compelled to comment on a book...great stuff!! Got it free on my Kindle and would be happy to pay for book two - but not if it slows down how quickly it's available! :)
    Was pleasantly surprised with the way the Suki storyline went. I thought she'd be more involved with the ghosts and tie things up in a pretty little bow by the end. Glad it was a little more unpredictable. Really looking forward to more of Tommy's story. I'll be checking out Traitor Blade as well. Thanks, from Canada :)

    Thoroughly enjoyed reading soulmate it was original, unpredictable, and a compelling read. LIke others on here I came across your site searching for book 2, hope its available soon.

    This was a fantastic book; I read it in 3-4 days, and I really enjoyed it. I just can't find Book Two anywhere.. But I really did enjoy Book One. It was marvelous.

    Hi got myself a kindle the other day and found soul mate as a free book it was amazing so bought ghost town (book 2) I finished it last night I'm gonna miss the characters so much waiting for book 3 fantastic characters and story like many reviews befor me suggest it be an amazon tv series

    I enjoyed this book immensely. I am on book two straightaway (there is a 3rd one as well). It is an extremely well-written gripping and unusual story about a loser! Some of the thoughts of the characters are so in-depth, managing to capture in writing emotions that we have all experienced but rarely succeed in putting into words. A great effort. I highly recommend it

    Hi Richard. I found the 1st Soul Mate book as a free download and whizzed through it on holiday. I loved it so much I logged on and bought books 2 and 3 straight away and was up reading them till 2am every night - I couldn't put them down! It's a long time since I've stayed awake so late reading! Your storytelling and characters are awesome. Please tell me there's more.... I haven't found a 4th book yet.... :)
